Killjoy-to-be - NiteNITE

A collaborative performance by the LasTesis collective and NITE junior company NITE Riders.

Between AI fiction and a concert, the performance addresses the construction of narratives from digital platforms, the creation and wide spreading of content, its biases, strengths and dangers.

Inspired by the book ‘Is Now The Time For Joyous Rage?’ (2023) and ideas by Judith Butler, Sara Ahmed and Mark Fisher, ‘KILLJOY-TO-BE’ reflects in a fun, funny and super musical way on gender mandates, patriarchal and capitalist structures and the recent rise of fascism.

About LasTesis

Las Tesis is a renowned feminist, interdisciplinary art collective based in Valparaíso, Chile. Known globally for their powerful performance art, Las Tesis blends physical theatre, sound, visual arts, and academic thought—drawing from history, philosophy, and social sciences—to amplify feminist messages across both digital and live platforms.

Since their founding, the collective has led hundreds of conversations and collaborative workshops around the world, sharing their work in festivals, museums, universities, and feminist gatherings across Latin America, North America, and Europe—including Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK, among others.

Their influential activism has earned them numerous honors, such as the Jaime Castillo Velasco Award from the Chilean Human Rights Commission (2020), the Design of the Year Award (Digital Category) from The Design Museum in London (2020), and recognition in TIME Magazine’s 2020 TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people.

About NITE Riders

NITE riders is the brand-new junior company of NITE, following in the footsteps of the Poetic Disasters Club (PDC) from Club Guy & Roni. This exciting initiative offers young creators/performers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the art and groundbreaking techniques of creating interdisciplinary work – NITE-style.

Throughout an entire theater season, the NITE riders participate in workshops, contribute to productions, and create their own graduation projects with guidance and support from the entire NITE family.
